Ann was born and grew up on the west coast of Ireland and moved to London to study Fine Art Sculpture at Chelsea College of Art. Later receiving an MA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths College. In 2022 she moved to the New Forest and revived her art practice after a long career in the museum sector.
She is currently focusing on making limited edition prints and drawings which explore ideas around legacy, family, connection and isolation. Often working from photographs, chosen by their subject and form, sometimes cropped and adjusted, brief moments of a snapshot or studio pose.
Her influences come from a variety of sources; medieval woodcuts, German Expressionism, children’s book illustration from the 1960’s/70’s, early 20th century portraiture, Kawaii, family and pets.
